"I love the journey of competing and what has lead me to that round," describes trainer and competitive rider Laura Bowery of Sea-Aire, Inc. of her mentality at horse shows. "In the jumpers it's about being fast but smooth. In the hunters, it's about making it seamless. I tell myself some confident things about myself and my horse before I go in the ring and that I have prepared for this competition. I think a lot about my horses when we are in the gate. Are they relaxed? Are they listening to me? Is there anything different I need to do in the show ring than what I did in the practice ring? At the end of the day, I love the sport and just try to give my horses the best ride possible."
